Unit 1. Moving Soprano

Since you will start harmonic dictation with only root-position triads, it is important to be able to hear what is in the soprano. This section only includes the root-position tonic triad. The harmony does not change, and you will focus on the soprano.

#1 - #4 are in C major. Write in the second soprano note on the staff, and the scale degree number above both soprano notes.

#5 - #9 are in C minor. Write in the second soprano note on the staff, and the scale degree numbers above both soprano notes.

#10 - #14 are in F major. Write in both soprano notes on the staff, and the scale degree numbers above both soprano notes.

#15 - #19 are in F minor. Write in both soprano notes on the staff, and the scale degree numbers above both soprano notes.
